Our methodology: how we score Dutch escort platforms

Seven criteria, each scored 0–10, tested on real devices and published in full. This is how every ranking and review on this site is built.

We score every escort platform on the same seven criteria — verification, mobile experience, page speed, pricing transparency, moderation, languages and inventory — each from 0 to 10. Every per-criterion score is published, so you can see exactly why a platform ranks where it does and reweight the numbers yourself if, say, inventory matters more to you than speed.

This page is the yardstick behind every review and ranking on best-escorts.nl. If an article deviates from it, that is a mistake — and we want to hear about it at redactie@best-escorts.nl.

Which seven criteria do we score?

Each criterion gets its own 0–10 score. We never average scores away: the overall number is shown only as a summary, and the per-criterion scores are always printed next to it.

1. Verification

The core question: is every profile identity-verified, spot-checked, or effectively unmoderated? A 10 means every profile passes an identity check before publication and that this is visible (badge, published policy). A 5–6 means spot checks or voluntary verification: some profiles are genuinely checked, most are not. A 0–3 means anyone can post anything. We weight this heavily in our verdicts because fake profiles are the single biggest concrete risk to visitors: in September 2025, Dutch police arrested two men for large-scale extortion run through fake profiles on Kinky.nl, with hundreds of victims according to investigators.

2. Mobile experience

Most visitors search on their phone. We test on real hardware (a recent iPhone and a mid-range Android): can you filter one-handed, are tap targets usable, does the layout shift, does the site work without pinch-zooming? A 9–10 is a genuinely mobile-first experience; a 4–6 is a desktop site that “just about works” on a phone.

3. Page speed

Measurable, so we measure it: we run Google Lighthouse on the homepage, a search results page and a profile page, on a simulated mobile connection, across three sessions on different days. A Lighthouse performance score of 90+ maps to a 9–10; 50–89 maps to 5–8; below 50 caps the score at 4. Slow listing sites are not a cosmetic problem — every extra second is paid again on every profile you open.

4. Pricing transparency

Are rates published in the listings, and are they consistent with what is actually charged? A 9–10 means prices are visible by default and the platform itself is transparent about rate data. A 5–6 means prices can be listed but are often missing or only surface once you make contact. A low score means you find out what something costs after contact — or worse, on arrival.

5. Moderation

How fast do fakes and scams get removed after a report, and is the policy legible? We look at three things: is there a public, readable moderation policy; is there a working report channel; and what demonstrably happens to reports. An 8+ requires visible policy plus fast removal. A 5–6 means policy exists but enforcement is slow or opaque.

6. Languages

The Netherlands has a large English- and German-speaking audience of tourists and expats. We rate the quality of NL, EN and DE support: is the full interface translated, or just the homepage? Are translations usable or machine-generated word salad? A 9–10 means three fully usable language versions; a 4–5 means Dutch-first with partial English at best.

7. Inventory

The breadth of active, real listings: how many advertisers are genuinely active, in how many cities, across how many categories? We run our own per-city spot counts and use external research where it exists — investigative outlet Investico, working with the KRO-NCRV programme Pointer, counted an average of 4,459 advertisers per day on Kinky.nl across more than five hundred Dutch towns, and an average of 14,371 per day on Sexjobs.nl. A small but fully verified catalogue scores low here by design: this criterion measures breadth only, and the other six take care of quality.

How do we test?

We test on real devices, not just emulators: a recent iPhone, a mid-range Android handset and a laptop. We visit each platform at least three times, spread over several weeks, because a single snapshot says nothing about moderation speed or uptime. Speed is measured with Lighthouse (mobile profile, three runs, median). For verification and moderation we compare the published policy against observed practice: profile spot checks, badges, and what actually happens to reports.

Every score we publish is a per-criterion score. The overall number you see in our ranking is the unweighted mean of the seven criteria, rounded to one decimal — a summary, never a substitute. The per-criterion scores always sit beside it so you can weight what matters to you.

Why are we this explicit? The disclosure

Best-escorts.nl is run by the team behind Intimate. That is not a footnote; it is the reason this page exists. Because we have a stake, we publish every per-criterion score separately so readers can verify our numbers and reweight them entirely if they choose. Competitors get full credit where they are strong — Kinky.nl and Sexjobs.nl beat Intimate comfortably on raw inventory, and our comparison tables show it. A ranking that hid that would be worthless to readers and radioactive for us.

Do we accept paid placements?

No. No paid positions, no sponsored reviews, no fee for ranking higher. Platforms cannot pay to be reviewed and cannot pay to avoid being reviewed. Outbound links to platforms — including Intimate’s competitors — are plain editorial links.

How does our corrections policy work?

Spotted a factual error, a stale score, or a claim that does not hold up? Email redactie@best-escorts.nl. We check every report, retest where needed and update the article; for substantive changes we update the updatedAt date and note what changed. On top of that, we re-run all scores every quarter, so no review is left to quietly rot.

Frequently asked questions

How does best-escorts.nl score escort platforms?
Every platform is scored on the same seven criteria — verification, mobile experience, page speed, pricing transparency, moderation, languages and inventory — each from 0 to 10. All per-criterion scores are published so you can check our conclusions and reweight them yourself.
Is best-escorts.nl independent from the platforms it reviews?
Not fully, and we say so everywhere it matters: this site is run by the team behind Intimate. That is exactly why we publish every per-criterion score and accept no paid placements — every number can be checked against the platform itself.
Can a platform pay for a higher ranking?
No. We accept no paid placements, sponsored reviews or affiliate deals that influence position. Rankings follow the published per-criterion scores and nothing else.
Which Dutch escort site verifies profiles?
As of August 2026, Intimate is the only major Dutch platform that identity-verifies every profile before publication. Kinky.nl and Sexjobs.nl rely on optional or spot-check verification, which is why their verification scores are lower in our reviews.
How do I report an error in a review?
Email redactie@best-escorts.nl with the error and a source if you have one. We check every claim, retest where needed, update the article and note the correction.
